“Investing in Youth” Braga, 2011-11-26, Why investing in Youth?

These recommendations and resolutions are the result of “Investing in Youth”, an Euro-Mediterranean Seminar held in Braga from the 22nd – 27th of November, organized by Portuguese National Agency with the cooperation of French National Agency, Italian National Agency and Salto EuroMed.

"Investing in Youth” Braga, 2011-11-26, Why investing in Youth?
Today when the world is rapidly changing; where big events are happening in many regions, youth become - either they have willingly decided or not - the key contributors in their communities; the ones who suppose to bring on a "new brave world".

Not just in the Arab Spring countries where old generation's negative perspective about youth have been changed altogether after the current uprisings created by young people; youth, too, is considered an outstanding part in the Western and European societies.

To be or not to be? Independent YiA

Today the Youth Forum starts a public campaign for an independent Youth in Action Programme and investments in young people across the next EU budget! We are mobilising young people from all over Europe to support our call, because we believe that, today more than ever, Europe needs to make youth policy a financial as well as a political priority.

Young people, in times of crisis and economic austerity, do not need nice words but strong investments. Young people must be a political and financial priority for Europe. We are going to ask the European Parliament and EU Member States for a strong and independent Youth in Action Programme for non-formal education, youth work and democratic youth organisations and an ambitious European Youth Employment Plan. Young people and youth organisations deserve nothing less!

the Arab-Russian Educational meeting

Arabic Culture
We are pleased to inform you that the Arab-Russian Education meeting (with YC 'Social Diplomacy' assistance) has occured in the restaurant 'Damascus' (Russia, Rostov-on-Don, Socialisticheskaya  st. 166). It means that a lot of students have come specially to attend this Educational meeting to learn and be participants of Intercultural Dialogue. The main idea of such Educational meetings is Intercultural Dialogue providing with major principles of Tolerance, Cultural Diversity, Non-Formal Education and Inter-religious conversation.

We've been divided into 3 subject groups with a native speaker teacher. Personally our group (with mine participation) has been participated a mutual educational process with Yemeni girl Maga and her husband from Egypt. She is a doctor trainee in our local city hospital, he is in a PhD process. We were talking in Arabic and Russian both on different topics, discussing our work places, plans for the future, views and cultural traditions with a special focus on the Arabic Literatural Language and Yemeni and Egyptian Dialects.

All this meeting has gathered more than 20 young people for 3 hours in Sunday. The base of the current event is volunteering except a meal payment during break. Such method allows people to be initiative in their Intercultural potential, to break mass-media imposed prejudices connected to extremism and socio-cultural intolerance in the multi-ethnic society of the Southern Part of Russia and the Big Black Sea region (including a huge number of Arab students and business-holders in our city).

Thanks for all for participants and their Sunday's mood!
