The Social Leader Forum focuses on professional exchange of best practice and promoting interdisciplinary dialogue among civil society actors from the Caucasus region. The civil society in the Caucasus region is facing many challenges concerning development, sustainability, cooperation and in the relation with the population. Capacity Building in Georgia and Turkey
The goal of these meetings in April and November is to exchange best practice examples and professionalize the work of local civil society actors through providing the fellows with inputs from international experts. These experts come from organizations like the BMW Foundation or the Centre for Social Investment at the University of Heidelberg. In the meetings we focus on the following questions
To promote cross-border exchange on best practice and cooperation, the program offers fellows a one-week study visit in a fellow colleague’s working environment between June and November. During this week fellows will get acquainted with their respective local partners, thereby enabling further implementation of cooperation.
Who should apply
We are interested in civil society activists living in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia (North Caucasus) and Turkey.
You are interested in sharing your knowledge and enhancing your skills through collaboration with like-minded colleagues, and you are willing to invest in long-term cross-border cooperation.
The Social Leader Forum is not limited to certain field of civil society activism. We therefore call for e.g. NGO workers, human rights lawyers, environmental activists, journalists, and all who are professionally engaged in social change and civil society matters.

Expenses for travel, accommodation and lodging for the duration of the program's activities will be covered by Joint Civic Education. A participation fee of 50 EUR is required at the Kick-off meeting.
